DANDELIONS ARE NOT WEEDS. THEY BUILD BONES BETTER THAN CALCIUM; CLEANSE THE LIVER AND HEAL ECZEMA AND PSORIASIS

May 26, 2019

Did you know that dandelion is an amazing food and medicine? Though most people view dandelions as pesky weeds that are super invasive, they are the most nutritious plants around. It has been used for centuries as a food and as a medicine to treat anemia, eczema, psoriasis, blood disorders, and depression.

Dandelions contain high amounts of Vitamin A and  C, fiber, potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and phosphorus. They are rich in trace minerals, Vitamin K and Vitamin D too. They have more protein than spinach.

DANDELION HEALTH BENEFITS

PROTECTS BONES

Dandelions are extremely rich in Vitamin K; they contain over 500 percent of your daily value.  It is an essential fat-soluble vitamin that is much needed for our bones and heart health. Vitamin K is important in bone mineralization. In fact, Vitamin K builds bones better than calcium!

DIGESTION

Dandelion  is a diuretic. It helps with digestion, balances the bacteria in the intestines, stimulates appetite. It helps the kidneys to excrete toxic waste and excess water by stimulation urine production.

LIVER

A 2017 study found that polysaccharides in dandelion are very beneficial to liver function.

Dandelion has been proved to help the liver function properly by getting rid of toxins and providing electrolytes.

Dandelions contain antioxidants that fight  free-radical damage to cells and DNA, thus slowing down the aging process in our cells. Dandelions increase the liver’s production of superoxide dismutase.

CANCER

Study after study proved dandelions to be affective at combating cancer.

DIABETES

Several animal studies demonstrate dandelions regulate blood sugar and insulin levels by controlling lipid levels.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Dandelions (here) are rich in fiber and potassium which help regulate blood pressure.

CHOLESTEROL

Animal studies have found that dandelion lowers and controls cholesterol levels.

INFLAMMATION

Due to the abundance of fatty acids, antioxidants, and phytonutrients  in dandelions, they are able to reduce inflammation and pain throughout the body.

IMMUNE SYSTEM

Studies also found that dandelion increases immune function and fights off microbes and bacteria.

How to Use Dandelions

Dandelions can be sautéed,  or eaten raw. You can also make dandelion tea.
